South Reefs

The dive sites differ from those in the North of Port Sudan for example in composition and diversity of the species. Big fish is seen in smaller numbers, but often many kinds of them. There are also a lot of small sandy islands in the South which turtles and sea birds are visiting for nesting.

In the North the highlights are dive sites with plateaus, terraces and coral gardens, but in the South these are steep walls, reef formations and 'habilis', small reefs ending some meters under the surface.

For South trips not all the year is suitable due to weather conditions and visibility under water. The south reefs are dived mostly only from March to June.
