Shaab Rumi Even well-travelled, experienced divers often view this “Roman reef” as one of the most beautiful reefs in the Red Sea, where a very large variety of species can be encountered. You will continually be astonished by the abundance of hard and soft corals, and of fish, ranging from the tiny to the great, in all the shapes and colours imagineable. Apart from the steeper northern plateau and the beautiful reefparts at the east and west side, the large southern plateau is the place where you enjoy the whole sea life of the Sudanese Red Sea. There are still reminders of Cousteau's work, in the form of a shark cage standing at the foot of the southern plateau.
